It's cheesy, but I have a simple cheap 2 speaker self-amplified (like
computer speakers) set with 1 speaker on the nightstand and the other on
top of a light hanging on the headboard approx the same distance away.
Works well for me! Don't do much sleep listening anymore. Not sure
why, as one of the best music experiences I had was listening to DSotM9
for the first time that way in the dark while trying to go to sleep.
Needless to say no sleep was gotten as I got seriously hyper listening
to that masterpiece.

Eventually when I can justify the expense I'll do a real stereo with
speakers on the furniture opposite the bed against the wall. Maybe rear
surrounds too for movies. Oh, and then a sub, then a center... ugh. No
wonder I've stuck with the $40 cheapies so far.
