He was kinda addressing the whole list and and "the world of opinions
of good and bad" and from my standpoint it looked like he was just
picking on everybody with this narrow view that says we actually think the
musicians read this list and they mold their next release based on
what we say. If artists like Namlook are making music to please us
then can someone explain 'New Organic Life'? I agree he should have
been addressing certain negative talk on the list *remembers all the
discussion on Air V even before anyone listened to it*
Trevor had the right response. People want more of the good stuff of
yesteryear then complain when they get it. Which goes to show time and
time again why you can't please some people.
p> I'm glad Trevor made the point below. Some folks just
p> don't know what they want. Thank the moogs Namlook

p> doing. Saying something like "it's been done before"
p> is so vague as to be meaningless. When was what done
p> before? On what release(s), exactly? Give evidence
p> to your 'argument' and you may actually have one.
p> Offer up another release you think sums up the style
p> better perhaps... isn't constructive conversation the
p> reason for this mailing list?

p> Another thing: it doesn't have to be new to be good.

p> I can hardly believe what has happened in the last
p> couple months on Fax. Namlook has had a serious
p> return to form. Air V is surprisingly strong (Air 3 &
p> 4 were not favorites for me). Sounds to me like the
p> original Fax-Geist still hangs out in Peter's studio.
p> Not only is that mid-90's spirit back, but it's back
p> in new form with the DTS 5.1 option, how fun. Quite
p> remarkable that the label is still strong after this
p> much time and the recent unrest and growing pains in
p> the music business. Not many labels doing this sort
p> of thing can say the same.
p> The wager that there will be some solo Inoue coming up
p> on Fax this year may be answered sooner rather than
p> later, but if it happens it may be something you
p> didn't expect. I'm sure the Fax authorities will make
p> some announcements if and when the time comes.
