Hello!
I'm 39. How old is Namlook?
In 1981 I read in a magazine about a band who played on Pocket Calculators.
I then got to the record store and bought Computer World, which was my first
synth album. Then followed Human League: Dare, Soft Cell: Non stop erotic
cabaret and Depeche Mode: Speak and Spell. I also bought my first synth, a
Casio VL-tone. That way I could play Get Carter form the Dare album.
Then followed Yello, Tangerine Dream, Jarre, YMO, Ultravox, John Foxx, Twice
A Man and many more. And then EBM with Front 242 which I heard live in 1985.
Around 1992/1993 i discovered Aphex Twin, Future Sound Of London and similar
bands, which was new and exciting in the synth department. In 1994 I heard
some tracks by Lassigue Bendthaus, which I really liked, and when I found
out that the man behind that was Uwe Schmidt I began collecting his works.
Around 2000 came clicks and cuts, and that interested me for a while. And a
couple of years ago I got into Fax, after looking for some new and exciting
electronic music. I heard some Fax releases some years ago, but didn't
really like them, except for Atom Heart, but all of a sudden I heard some
more Fax, and was hooked up. Fax is the latest electronic music which I
really like.
Apart from electronic music I really like XTC, The Smiths, The Cure, Jethro
Tull, Steely Dan and some more. And also classical music like Satie, Mahler
and Schubert.
CA.
