Psytrance nostalgia and escalating prices [was: (fax) Hello]

This topic is legitimate for this list given Herr Namlook's past forays
into trance.

Cosmosis is a personal favorite of mine, too. I remember reading an
interview in which he said he had previously played lead guitar in a
rock group, but after experiencing some synth trance sounds he hung up
his strat and focused exclusively on electronic compositions.

I had no idea my Pleideans and other psytrance discs are now collector's
items! I'll have to research how much my trove is worth, at least for
insurance purposes.

I'm still blown away that my beloved Waiting for Snow CD (primarily an
IDM work), is now fetching over $160 on eBay. I bought it new from PBE
for about $15 just a few years back.

Hello Jack & Trevor (and everyone else),

Very good breakdown & artist names that really marked the genre, indeed.

Some more maybe (those that releases more than one album and were pretty
well known) ... Total Eclipse and Space Tribe, Astral Projection (one,
if
not THE major israeli act), Infected Mushroom, the famous italian guys
Etnica/Pleiadians, my personal all-time favorite Cosmosis, Shakta aka
Digitalis aka Somaton, to name the most famous acts. You know any of
these,
Trevor?

Old & rare psytrance CDs (like Pleiadians or Blue Planet Corporation)
are
sold on ebay at pretty high prices, US$50 to US$250... my copies of
Pleiadians "I.F.O." and Cosmosis "Synergy" *almost* hurt... :-)

The Infinity Project & Simon "Hallucinogen" Posford created quite a lot
of
remarkably beautiful ambient stuff, I dare say that most of the FAX
heads
here would appreciate it!

For example TIP's "Mystical Experiences" album, and the two albums from
a
collaboration of the two called "Shpongle", the two "The Mystery of the
Yeti" album come to my mind as well, and the "Eclipse" compilation.
Maybe
you want to check it out, or drop me a private note for some samples,
you
won't regret listening into the stuff.

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's
89 now, and now we don't know where she is.
