Here's an old post from Dave @ Fax USA that I found in the depths of my
email. Hopefully this solves the issue, since it came from the man himself.

Ask and ye shall receive. Here are Namlook's answers:

In order to facilitate worldwide distribution.

> 2. What does the "08/" for PK and PS mean?

In Germany, 08/15 is a synonym for "average"--a thing that everyone has
/ does--a German saying for "nothing special at all".

So our products started with 08/16 (get it ?) and 08/15 was
"Synthadelic" a persiflage on the hardcore/cheap as cheap can go sample
.. mainly born from a joke and a main statement about FAX music.. it is
NOT average ... not for the money but for the MUSIC itself in the first
place.

> and the subs?

Because 08/ is a German joke and probably not understood by the rest of
the world.
