I first picked up cymatic scan and sad world 2 and was thoroughly 
intrigued by the odd images, the thematic design layout as well as the 
music.  It was ambient - but up until that point most of the ambient I 
had heard was a much more polished and I suppose marketable form of it. 
  It worked on me and although I don't keep up with the new releases 
like I used to, those early fax releases set a precedent w/ me in 
seeking out obscure music.
